Maddy sat checking the happy faces in the blissful pictures posted on the timeline of her “family and friends” on the famous social media platform, at a cosy Micheline star restaurant on Christmas eve with no one to give her company to dig in the finest of the food to bring back her long-lost chirpy mood or to share the worldly pleasures that her stinking richness could easily buy.

Across the road, braving the cold, stood a young boy playing the violin, dishing out melodious tunes one after other in the hope to collect as much in the hat placed right in front of him, to buy a morsel.

“Except for the loneliness, everything is a contrast. Wish their paths crossed”, thought the waitress as she took the half-eaten food away from Maddy’s table while her eyes were glued to the boy outside.

So much of that glaring contrast filling our canvasses. Our paths often cross but the contrast lingers on. Beautiful.

Well written….well expressed… is a contrast indeed…..

Sad reality of life.

Sorrow or loneliness is a great equalizer. They don’t discriminate people on the basis of their bank balance, colour, religion, nationality, etc. 🙂

What a struggle!  As we say- c’est la vie.
Very beautifully written.
