‘If you can’t run…fly’, words of his mother echoed in his mind as he glanced through the window from his bed, at the blue sky dotted with wandering clouds here and there, complimented by the flock of the returning birds, that evening.

Reaching for the file and a pen with struggle, that lay on the table next to his bed, he pulled out a prescription from it, turned it over, and drew a stick man flying in the sky with a balloon in his hand.

Buoyed by the  thought and the picture that he made, transformed his gloomy mood to one with the hope and confidence though he felt no sensation in the lower part of the body, while lying still on the hospital bed, as it was paralyzed due to an unfortunate accident a few days back.

So much of our healing is in the mind, isn’t it? Lovely story and the image is fab too!

bloggeray · May 18, 2020 at 11:14 pm

This is uplifting. I didn’t notice that there were only three sentences in the story until I read about the prompt at the end. Fantastic work!

I also enjoyed the way you imbibed the image in the story.
