She marched in like an angry bull. Swinging her bag on to the sofa, she was huffing and puffing while removing shoes and socks. Slamming the door of the shoe rack, she stomped towards the washroom.

“Unusual ballistic attack on the way”, predicted Mrs Chitterchatter. And before she could ask the little girl, raging with fire, the first missile was darted.

“Can you see ten heads and ten hands?”

“Of whom?” asked the mother

“Of course, me”

‘The bull on the rampage. What could be the matter? Fight with friends? No PT (Physical training) play time? Hungry? Bad hair day..nah she is too young to have it yet!’, pondered mother.

“Its cheating”, scoffed the girl. “There are six teachers to teach six subjects. And my brain is alone to keep everything in it. Isn’t that unfair?”

“This never occurred to me that way, sweet heart”

Without paying much attention to what the mother had expressed, the angry young lady continued.

“They send me up and down”

“Who and for what?”

“All my teachers. I have to carry the note books to the staff room for correction, sometimes to send the message from one teacher to the other and sometimes to fetch this or that”

“That’s because, you are the monitor”

“All the class is busy copying down from black board and I am going up and down. I have to rush through. The next teacher erases the board on her arrival”

“Hmmmm”

“Other boys and girls engage in running around by that time and I am still copying down. They have so much fun. Its very unfair”

“I see the point”

“And then I have to devise the plan to finish my breakfast before anyone comes to know what’s in my lunch box”

“Why?”

“My friends eat from my lunch box and I am left with nothing”

“I will pack extra portions for you”

“Still nothing will be left. They are devouring dinosaurs”

The volley of grudges was fired at, aimlessly and incessantly and there was no end in sight. Mrs Chitterchatter was speechless at that! (rare occasions you know!!!)

“Here at home, I have to negotiate with bro for the remote and TV channel to watch. He tricks me and I don’t realise it”

“If you don’t realise it, why bother?”

“I realise it when the screen time gets over. One day I am going to trick him”

“Setting the school bag for the next day is another tough job”

“I have to complete my homework, take shower, keep my clothes in the laundry basket. All to be done by myself”, vented the grumpy bear. The bitter bullet train was thundering down the stations without stopping at any.

“Mean?”

“Look at my little fingers, they are tired! Check my tiny brain, its exhausted”, she continued.

“One-man band’”, I consoled.

“I am not a boy who will grow up to be a man”, bitterness continued.

“Oops…One WoMan band!”, corrected Mrs Chitterchatter offering her a bowl of ice cream.

The fuming ball of fire did not notice the content of the bowl.

“At play area, in evening, the scene is completely chaotic. No one wants to play the game suggested by other. We end up playing nothing and by the time we start playing, its time to return home”

The cold bowl made its presence felt by then. Turning her attention to the bowl, she was taken up by surprise.

With her eyes wide open and mouth ajar, the sight of the double scoop of the ice cream put the break on the attack. It cooled down the feisty furious tigress. One WoMan Band stopped playing music on high notes. The cheery, chirpy tunes were heard soon…

By the way what was the reason behind this firework? I suppose it was the heat of the summer and it melted away with the ice cream!

I hear you, baby!! All the running up and down! So so true! And classmates who turn up at the right moment and don’t leave a morsel for you. I still remember, there were these 2 guys in my class who would eat their lunchboxes and then be on the prowl to get some more from others. One day, my mother had packed 3 burgers, one for me and two for my two friends. As we had just opened up the box, those two boys appeared from nowhere, and seeing them, all 3 of us turned ourselves. We didn’t want to share. Reading this reminded me of that incident. After the giant kid, little innocent baby comes to the fore. And I am so happy, her bad mood disappeared on seeing the bowl of ice cream. Aha, the answer to all problems. Good thinking, mama! Sometimes, I think it is the answer to all world problems too. Give all the leaders a bowl of ice cream and see if the world isn’t a happier place then.

The real life devouring dinosaurs! Must have been a great pain.
So loved your idea of offering ice cream to all the leaders!
Thanks dear for visiting and sharing the real life “Innocent Baby’s burger sharing” experience.

Poor young lady has to deal with so many things at such a young age…and she’s getting absolutely
no credit. No wonder she’s so upset.

Hopefully the title of a one woman band and the icecream will make her forget her worries for another day?

Anchal · April 19, 2018 at 1:35 pm

I guess ice-cream can cool everyone down. Right?

mahekg · April 26, 2018 at 12:37 pm

Thankfully ice cream did the trick
