Winter always brings the best of weather, food and mood. The vegetable market is flooded with the fresh vegetable supplies. Last week, I couldnt resist the lure of green cucumber (Kheera) and Kashmiri carrots (red ones) stacked in the most tempting way. I bought loads of them.
Once home, I pulled out a cucumber and a carrot, washed and diced them with great zeal. The contrasting colours triggered my creative side and I decided to plate them.
Off late, I have been obsessed with clicking photographs of all such things that I find, are eye-catching. Surprisingly everything that meets my eyes, is catchy enough to be clicked away. I get ridiculed though for it, most of the times.
The salad dish that day was no any exception. Arranging itsy-bitsy things around the salad plate I clicked few snaps. Shoved it in fridge as dinner time was yet to tick in.
Later, when I presented salad plate with a twinkle in my eyes, everyone at the dinner table was happy to dig in. The twinkle and happy rush however lasted but few seconds. Barring me, everyone got up from the table and rushed to the dustbin. I was not left behind as I joined them too. Culprit was cucumber. It was bitter!
This spurious semblance was enough to puncture gleeful moment . However, remark by my daughter “The pic that you might have taken of it, wont reveal that it had bad taste, Mom”, perked us up!
