“Let me wind up fast, else we’ll be late”, said Mrs Chitterchatter while entering the bathroom.
Innocent Baby and Mrs Chitterchatter had planned a girl’s day out.
“I am all set Mumma”, chirped the little one.
“Well…”, before she could complete the sentence, Mrs Chitterchatter landed on the bathroom floor with a bang.
“Humpty Dumpty had a great fall…hahahaha”, said Innocent Baby animatedly.
The laughter was infectious. Mrs Chitterchatter couldn’t control laughing. But when, she tried to get up, she found, she couldn’t. Checking out her struggle, Innocent Baby stopped laughing. She rushed to help her.
Mrs Chitterchatter tried to contain her tears. She was in much pain. After trying hard to gather herself, she could sit on the bathroom floor . To her surprise, she found that she couldn’t move her elbow. Innocent Baby rushed to the kitchen and fetched an ice pack. She pressed it against the elbow that by then had swollen up.

Mrs Chitterchatter was overwhelmed by the act. Innocent Baby gave her a hug and then helped her get on her feet. She then made her comfortable in the bed. Running back to kitchen, she fetched a glass of water. While Mrs Chitterchatter sipped from the glass, Innocent Baby caressed her.
Innocent Baby reached out for phone and dialed Mr Balanced. She informed him of the “great fall”. Father daughter had a brief talk and before hanging up she said, “Don’t worry Daddy, I am a big girl. I will take care of Mummy.”
“Girls day out is going to start with a visit to doctor”, declared Innocent Baby with authority.
Soon both were seen venturing out of the house.
“Patient must wait patiently at the reception till the time that I get a rickshaw”, announced Innocent Baby, making Mrs Chitterchatter comfortable on the sofa chair at the reception lobby of their apartment.
She dashed towards apartment entrance and soon came back riding a rickshaw.
Once at the OPD of the clinic, Innocent Baby informed receptionist, “My mother had accidentally fallen down. She is badly hurt. She needs urgent attention and help”. The honest plea by the stainless voice made the receptionist take notice of the situation. In an assuring tone, she replied, “Don’t worry child, your mother will be taken care of immediately”.
Innocent Baby was relieved to see her mother getting wheeled into the consulting room. She was now busy either checking the clinic entrance or the closed doors of consulting room. Mr Balanced, who was half way through his office had returned.
Rushing towards him, Innocent baby hugged him. “Daddy, she is hurt badly”. Then there was a cloud burst.
“Everything will be all right”, he comforted her. Their attention was drawn to the laughter flowing from the consulting room.
Any guess, what the reason might be?
Mrs Chitterchatter was heard narrating “Humpty Dumpty had a great fall”, much to the amusement of the doctor and the staff attending her!

Oh-oh! The fallbis not good news, but the way Innocent Baby handled the situation is heartwarming and applaud worthy.

Mrs. Chitterchatter not only has a great sense of humour that helps her through life but also a great family. How old is the Innocent Baby? I’m impressed by her presence of mind…. I knew of a pre-teen who didn’t even know how to call up the GP when her mom was sick!!!

How innocent the baby is. I love the character and the way she caressed her mom. Hope Mrs balanced is OK to join the girls day out. T is ten commandments. https://syncwithdeep.wordpress.com/2018/04/23/t-ten-commandments-blogchattera2z-atozchallenge-atoz/

Hope Mrs Chitterchatter [humpty dumpty] is fine and up again, running around now. Seriously one fall is enough to leave aside effects for life time.

Awww… this is such a comforting story even after the pain of Mrs. Chiterchatter.
How responsible of Innocent Baby, kids show compassion, responsibility and empathy correctly, when their upbringing is done well.. like in this case Anagha.
Lovely post.

How sweet, strong and wise the innocent baby is! I am impressed by the way she kept her cool in this trying situation and consoled her mother, and also the way she let herself go when she found her father at the end. What a clever girl!!

A sweet and lovely story, though Mrs. Chitterchatter had a great fall but for this the love, bonding and caring nature of the innocent baby has come in front.
