One of the things that sparks up Mrs Chiterchatter is the visit to the upmarket mall. The conditioned air inside works therapeutic wonders on her. Walking across the stores she soaks every hue and color that the window displays have to offer. It doesn’t matter to her then whether it’s a travel bags shop or foot-ware or an apparel or plain Jane grocery outlet. Another one that fascinates her is the toy shop!
And one of the things that sucks away all the spark from Mr Balanced is visit to the mall! The moment he crosses the mandatory security check at the entrance, his legs give up walking. He is not left with any energy after crossing 3rd or the 4th store. If there happens to be a gadget shop, his eyes sparkle! He can be seen checking out the features of the mobiles, cameras, pens and to certain extent sun glasses if he stretches his enthusiasm.
On one such rare occasions, he accompanied Mrs Chitterchatter who promised him that outing wont last more than two hours. For she had to buy few gifts.
“120 minutes? That’s a mammoth loss of productive human hours”, he had grumbled while leaving the house.
Sliding her sun glasses down a bit, she gave a stare to Mr Balanced with a raised eyebrow.
“Great nations are built at the altar of the sacrifices of the great men”, he said looking at her soon going to be warrior avatar.
“Whatever”, she replied and went ahead with the poise of lioness.
Five minutes into the mall, he was languishing behind and she was “Alice in wonderland”
While browsing through the window displays of the shops, she stopped at one. She was checking out the one-piece dress that adorned the mannequin. Mannequins always gave her a complex with their perfect figure and never ending toned legs! While she was busy looking at the dress with her mouth open and dreamy eyes, Mr Balanced caught her in his mobile. Stepping towards her, he glanced in the direction of her gaze. He could not find anything worthwhile.
“What caught your fancy that you did not notice the Prince of your heart approaching you?”
With her gaze still locked, she raised her hand and pointed towards the one piece on display.
“Oh that one? Nice! Is this part of your gift list?”
The mention of the gift list brought her back to the present and the time limit of promised two hours.
“Wish I could wear it”, she said moving ahead.
Holding her back, he said, “Let the wish come true. Why wait?”
“Did you see properly which dress I was pointing to?”, she asked him in disbelief.
“One piece at the corner of the display. Am I right?”
“Yes but a no, no, no”
“Its pretty short and costly too. I have never worn such a kind. And at this age?”
“You only live once, sweet heart. You are as fresh and young as you were always”, he said in the wooing voice that he had only for her.
She was surprised and could not believe what she had heard.
Holding her hand, he took her back to the shop and made the purchase. Mrs Chitterchatter felt as if she was the Disney Princess. Not all fairy tales need a backdrop of the citadel; they can happen at mall as well!
