“Papa, we need to have the fire safety audit done”
“Sure, but not now. Season of the festivities starts now. I
cant afford to spare few hours out of the shop”.
“I will manage the shop in your absence”.
“Damini, enough of discussion. I will do, it but later”
A1 Furniture’s new outlet managed to clock in the great
revenue. On the day of Laxmi Puja, Damini visited the shop along with her
mother. The fresh flower adorned the entrance. Entire shop was lit up with oil
lamps. Just before closing time, Damini reminded her father to put off all oil
lamps.
When a staff member was about to put off the lamp infront of
the goddess’s idol, he was shunned away.
The headline of the local daily,  next day carried the photo of the inferno
raging from A1 Furniture shop.
Without the fire safety audit, insurance claim was
weightless.

Good one. And much needed lesson to follow audits.

Often we shrug away the small but important things in our lives, to be catered to later. But, sometimes later never comes. A very nice take on the prompt. 🙂

Importance of such small things is realized only when we pay huge costs for neglecting them. Thanks Rashi for joining in the discussion on my take on the tale and for visiting!

Procrastination can be more harmful than we realise. Too bad he didn't listen to his daughter. Nice take on the prompt, Anagha.
