Yesterday, like every other morning these days, my new normal since lockdown, I was sitting near the flower-bed balcony of my flat which happens to be on the 10th floor of the skyscraper. A steaming hot cuppa of coffee was giving me a company in my solitude. The aroma of the vapors was revitalizing my energy to gear up for the day. The eastern sky, that very time, decided to present a two-hander act.

Here was the Sun shining in all its glory and proclaiming its dominance over the skies as well as over the life on Earth. While it was ascending, a prodigious dark cloud assisted by the light morning breeze decided to steal the show.

Probably the rain God is working hard these days, making the clouds in its backyard and decided to send one to test the skies or maybe to deflate the ever-rising ego of the summertime Sun, I contemplated. In no time, it covered the sun for a good few seconds.

Sun however being the star remained undeterred. The breeze then took away the challenger with it. The dark cloud vanished like thin air in no time leaving the blue sky for Sun to rule once again.

The two-hander act was over with the Beatles song “Here comes the Sun and I say all right”, playing in my mind, in loop!

Lovely lovely lovely. I too see this dance of the sun and the clouds and reminds me of the Nursery story of the battle between the sun and the cloud. It is very restful to sit in a balcony and enjoy your daily cuppa watching the sky. How beautifully you’ve captured this peaceful time .

It was a Lagaan moment with the dark clouds and the sun playing hide n seek with whosoever was awake at that time. You caught them 🙂

Do listen to it Ira. It’s a lovely song with the message of hope, especially the hope after a long gloomy winter. And it fits the bill right now for us. Thanks for visiting and sharing your view.

I too have been witnessing this battle for the past few days. Not complaining as it makes the sky prettier with the light & shadow acts. Loved your narrative Anagha
