“Life is as empty as this glass”, said Hussain. “Was it ever full?”, he doubted.
“It was! You don’t seem to register it”, remarked Jasmine.
“Maybe, it was. But not anymore”
“It still is”
“Ignoring the reality won’t help”
“I’m not ignoring, but accepting it”
“Life will never be as good as it was. With him around, everything had a meaning”, voiced Hussain getting up from his seat.
Reaching out to his hand and holding him back, Jasmine said, “He is still with us. You fail to sense his presence”
“With him, life was a breeze. He taught us the way to live life, to the fullest. He was a brave soldier!”, she continued with a lump in throat.
Two years back, on that day Hussain and Jasmin’s son breathed his last, fighting a long lost battle with cancer.
“Missed lesson of life” he expressed, hugging her.
