Day starts on the note of chronic monotony. I am in kitchen. It’s that time of the day when the pressure cooker is juddering with fury. Cooker would fail to contain the fury and soon will give out a whistle. The pan on the other flame holds oil, all set for seasoning. I add mustard to it and spluttering adds zing  to the kitchen music. My hands rush for the curry leaves and other stuff mechanically.

Engrossed in thick of action, business of cooking is at its peak. Suddenly I register an activity in another kitchen. Before you have an eerie thought, let me tell you that this other kitchen is hidden from the world and resides deep inside my brain.

The hidden kitchen has a humongous cauldron with a magic concoction of thoughts, experiences, fantasies, emotions, imaginations, impressions, reflections etc to name a few. The concoction starts boiling at any time of the day without any forewarning. What triggers it? I’m clueless.  Every bubble that surfaces on the magic potion is short lived though. It however holds the promise of a fresh new idea for an article which may go viral on net!

PIT My Pet Pal

My focus is now diverted to one emergent bubble holding an idea out of many that have surfaced. I feel like a child lost in the candy shop. A few moments into it, the nostrils send a distress call via nasty smell.

Not again, I curse myself! Feeling neglected, the real kitchen got cross with me and result??? Some firefighting like turning off the burner and taking off the pot from the stove brings the situation under control. Sorry state of affair gazes me. I have spoiled the dish of the day and have lost the bright looking, brand new idea about the post that was getting cooked in my brain! Such a pity.

This happens with me when I am running errands in and around the house like haggling over prices of veggies, evening walks, chit chatting with my friends, helping my daughter in her studies, watching the slug-fest of politicians on TV, and this-and-that to name a few.

Most of the times, these random ideas simply escape from my grab, mocking at me. No matter how hard I may try, it simply never returns from eternity where it rests peacefully forever. How I wish then that there should be a PIT…Perspicacious Idea Translator.

PIT is a gadget of my dream and desire. I want it to have a sleek and chic design. It can be a wearable item like a broach or a fancy lapel pin or an earning or a dangler.  Once I wear it, it should catch the waves from my brain and whenever a new post idea surfaces as a thought in my mind, it should net it and store it in its memory. Syncing PIT to my laptop, I would be able to download the pool of ideas from it. Bingo!!!

It should have a long battery life and be solar powered. It should habe facility for upgrades like expansion of its functionality eg. translating pictorial ideas into actual pictures, composing a post from the most brilliant ideas and posting it directly as draft on my blog, etc.

Wishes do have wings, don’t they?

PIT, my pet pal. I would carry it day in, day out not bothering about the ‘post drop’ issue like call drop! Right now, while writing this post, one more bubble of thought with a dollar sign on it, marked its presence felt in my mindscape. How about patenting this idea and earning some royalty??? Genius, aint it?

Seriously you should patent it 🙂 It’s not far when neural net links to physical net. Nice Idea…

With your fertile imagination, technical mind and creative spirit, I’m surprised you haven’t already invented this gadget. Tremendous!

Hahaha…my flights of fancy Sunita! Thanks for visiting.
Honestly, some day, one day, I am so sure that such a gadget would be easily/ readily available in market.

You have clearly outlined the problems of being a thinker and writer. Very creatively woven with the prompt.

    Thanks Neeraj ji.

What a delightful little thought. Who knows some tech company might just pick up your idea and translate it into reality?
Until then, don’t stop dreaming! ?

Cool! I too dream of this gadget 🙂
Will be possible in the future.
Apart from capturing & storing, it should have great editing skills & publish all the brainwaves, ideas & thoughts too 🙂
Of course that will have our own stamp!

    Anagha Yatin · February 5, 2019 at 10:04 pm

Yeah… these are cool features! Thanks for giving wings to PIT Anita.

Abhijit Ray · February 6, 2019 at 7:40 pm

I thought you will ask for a gadget that will cook meals. Instead you want a gadget that will record your thought about a post, download ideas for a future post. I see your priorities clearly.

    Anagha Yatin · February 6, 2019 at 8:49 pm

You got it right Abhijitji! Thanks for visiting.

You are a brilliant writer as it is Anagha. A PIT is really not needed. Your writing rocks and I always find what you have to say extremely refreshing. I liked the post. Yes, many ideas do slip from us never to come back to the upper echelons of our consciousness. Great post.

    Anagha Yatin · February 7, 2019 at 4:22 pm

Awww… thanks Jay for this uplifting remark! It means a lot.
