Mrs Chitterchatter is always on lookout for the reason to get rid of the repulsive force she experiences from the kitchen. She is aware that kitchen possesses equally magnetic personality like herself … but… they are same poles, you see! So are devoid of any attraction. It’s the science that needs to be blamed for and neither she nor the kitchen and cooking!

Mrs Chitterchatter was excited. So was the Innocent Baby and the Giant Little Kid. Mr Balanced was out of town and was trotting the globe. It was the Sunday prior to the Republic Day this year. The society where they dwelled had organised Sports Day on that day. The games were to start off in morning post breakfast. It was going to be a half day affair.

Being opportunist, Mrs Chitterchatter had declared that the family would be dinning out on Sunday. Let the cook, the kitchen and Mrs Chitterchatter enjoy the break, she had wisely thought.

Three was the new company for them. The sports day was enjoyed to the brim. Happy, exhausted and hungry by the lunch time, they were looking forward to hit the lunch date. A new family restaurant had opened recently and it was just a street across.

As they marched, Giant Little Kid’s friends came calling. They also had a plan for an eat out. Giant Little Kid now was in dilemma… family or friends? Reading his thoughts, Mrs Chitterchatter winked at him. Giant Little Kid was more than happy to join his gang.

Someone however got grumpy. The Innocent Baby felt cheated at the hands of her father and elder bro. Before Innocent Baby could vent out, Mrs Chitterchatter said, “Its going to be mommy and sweeti-pie only! Two for Jarabe Tapatio! Girls gonna have fun”. Innocent Baby perked up, for she always wanted to have her momma all for herself!

Mom and the daughter walked hand in hand. They sang the patriotic song on the way, which the Innocent Baby was practicing for the Republic Day function at the school. At the restaurant Innocent baby was thrilled when Mommy dear asked her to choose the table.

Settling at the chosen one, they were fascinated by the decorations inside the restaurant. Innocent Baby was elated when she was given the responsibility to decide the course and cuisine. Going through the menu, she was spoilt for the choice and was seemingly confused. With little help from Mommy, they zeroed in on Mexican cuisine.

Clearing her throat, the Innocent Baby called out for the attendant with a great confidence yet very polietly. She ordered one “Mosambi juice spiked with ginger” and one “Twisted Pinnacolada”. She also placed the order for Tacos and Burrito. Upon finishing the task, she declared to Mrs Chitterchatter that she was going to pen her experience and she better not be disturbed. Mommy dear obliged merrily for she was enjoying the Jarabe Tapatio with daughter dear, that was picking up the tempo!!!

The food arrived and the Innocent Baby forgot about her writing, instantly. Hunger took over the control and both savoured the food. The delicious and crunchy Tacos, luscious and mouth-watering Burritos satiated them to the core. Mocktails complemented the whole experience. While sipping the mocktail, Innocent Baby fished out the ice on the straw, from her mocktail. It was shaped like a ring. And before Mrs Chitterchatter could contemplate, Innocent baby wore it on her little finger!

The toothy grin melted away all the grievance that Mrs Chatterchatter had. Both were heard laughing…

Laughter is the brightest where the food is the best!

What a wonderful outing, mother and young daughter, an occasion for much laughter. Should I be surprised that tacos and burritos are enjoyed all over the world? They are so enjoyed by both young and old!

what a lovely post….. and I didn’t know till the end what Jaraba tapatio was…. guessed it was some kind of fish dish? then thought it may be a drink? Never imagined it was a dance! That was the real suprise at the end. And thanks for joining up with #FT. Look forward to having you as our guest every month! p.s. I can’t share any of your posts…. getting some message that it is spam?

What a lovely mom and daughter moment that must have been! I can imagine the scene you’ve so vividly described and it feels I’m almost there to watch from the sidelines. Beautiful moments in life happen just like that. We need to lap it up and enjoy them for the sheer joy they bring into our lives.
