These days I am busy with spring cleaning. Yes, you read it right, spring cleaning in Summer! This is all thanks to lockdown that I have enough time on hands. This spring cleaning is of digital type, though.

I am on a mission to free up the memory space on my portable hard disk, laptop, and mobile wherein most of the space is consumed by the images. And that’s the biggest hurdle too in accomplishing my goal. With every image, I am rushed to a forever-land of memories which is a quicksand, digital quicksand to be precise.

By the end of a few hours, invariably, I stand right at the start, where I started! Means, no pics deleted, no gain in free memory space…but my heart is filled to the brim with the fondness of memories, of moments frozen forever for life by these pics.

The one I am sharing today is from the month of August 2013, while I was at Pune. I had returned home, half-day,  from work with a headache, that day. I was walking towards my apartment after parking the car. As I glanced up, I spotted this beautiful circular rainbow. I was transfixed for a while and realizing that I can capture the moment, I dug out my mobile from my bag. Thankfully, the rainbow stayed still, till I could catch it in my frame!

Cut to present, when I looked at it, a naughty funny thought crawled in my mind. If its a circular rainbow where’s the pot of gold which usually is at the end of the rainbow? Let me know if you know 🙂

The Pot of Gold is only in the heart of the man who looks at the rainbow.
As for the cleanliness of the laptop … I live the same drama: I started dozens of times, I never finished. : D

So wisely put Zina! Watching a rainbow fills the heart with happiness that is none less precious than Gold.
As for cleanliness drive, let’s keep on trying our hands at it. Some day we will win!
    Thanks for visiting.

I didn’t know about the concept of a pot of gold hidden at the end of the rainbow. The circular rainbow is so pretty. It was the rainbow’s destiny that day to get captured by you and find home in your phone or else you would have carried on working in the office.

    Anagha Yatin · June 4, 2020 at 7:02 pm

Wow…you gave me an altogether different perspective! Till now I thought I was lucky to spot it. But now it has dawned to me that the rainbow also is lucky to have me as a spectator!!!
    Thanks for visiting.

Wow! Wow! WOW! How awesome to capture this once in a lifetime spectacle!! I guess the pot of gold is a myth since there is no ‘end’ !!

Thanks for being a part of ‘My Corner of the World’ this week!

    Anagha Yatin · June 4, 2020 at 7:05 pm

It was truly awesome, Betty. Though I am aware that the pot of gold is a myth, I still wish to believe that its true…a bit oxymoronic, isn’t it?
    Thanks for visiting.

Its rare to sight a full circle rainbow on ground. Apparently all rainbows are circular but can only be seen from the sly. You are one lucky person Anagha …… so you are the pot of gold 🙂

    Anagha Yatin · June 4, 2020 at 9:29 pm

In a way yes… it was a lucky moment! Thanks Monika for visiting.

Ha! I guess you would have to ask a leprechaun for the answer!

Have a great weekend!

Dear Anagha,

Yes, must be indeed a gorgeous sight to behold.

But, this isn’t a rainbow. I’m sorry if I burst your bubble. 🙁

This is actually a halo that forms around the sun or moon. Scientists call it the 22-degree halo as the rings have an approximately 22 degree radius around the sun or moon.

You can read some more here:

https://earthsky.org/space/what-makes-a-halo-around-the-moon

Well, even I didn’t know this till last week, when someone sent me a forward and I did some research and figured the actual secret behind this awe-inspiring sight. This is the third time I’ve seen this halo through some one.

And I saw one when I was in Africa, in Arusha, for real. Though have vague memories, as there was just so much to see in stunning Africa.
I’d love to know what it connotes spiritually. 🙂

I’m so glad you shared this awe-inspiring rainbow oops halo with us. 🙂

Lovely posts Anagha, for #WW.

Thank you.

Good… you saved my energy which I was investing on finding pot of gold 😉

      Natasha · June 9, 2020 at 2:39 pm

Ha! Ha! You don’t need the rainbow to find your pot of gold. It’s all inside you 😃
